Campfire check-ins
How Check-in Rewards work
Pokémon GO events may run for several hours, but Campfire check-ins are for a specific time window listed in the meetup details. Checking in awards timed research with premium rewards tied to the event type — and more check-ins help our community earn free swag to share.
Check in during the window
Each meetup lists its own check-in window. Be in the area (~1 km) and check in through Campfire during that time.
You can check in up to 15 minutes before events begin.
Claim your 500 XP
After checking in, don't forget to claim 500 XP to unlock your timed research with event-specific rewards.
You only have 1 hour to collect this to begin the timed research.

Complete the timed Research
For eight hours you'll have some timed research with awesome in-game rewards for joining the meetup.
Plus after checking in you get special field research, 3/4 egg hatch distance in a party, and more.
